ugh...

Is it only Wednesday? This week is dragging big time. I am seriously working for the weekend right now. I had two late shifts in a row (until 7 p.m.), which isn't really that late but throws me off something fierce. I am already mapping out my weekend:
  • plant some herbs, tomatoes, flowers...
  • start a painting
  • finish my cherry blossom wreaths
  • mail a package to my sister
  • grill out
  • finish Dexter Season 3
  • build a terrarium
  • bake something
P.S. The photo of me above is pretty old...and those are some HUGE shades! ha-ha

thoughts...

This is a watercolor painting I did a few years ago in a class I took with my mom. I really like painting and always wish I did it more often. Why is it so hard to make time for things like this? I feel the same way about a lengthy list of projects/hobbies. I know I spend my fair share of time wandering around the internet & watching TV, so it is probably an easy solution - but one that takes willpower. Today I did a lot of cleaning, grocery shopped, walked the dogs and did 20 minutes of relaxing yoga. Some days just getting the chores & some physical activity done has to be enough.

Happy 28th Birthday to.....

my baby-cakes Cory Starr!! These are carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, most definitely his favorite. We are having a low-key night in because we are both exhausted & have mild headaches...but pizza & Dexter on our cozy couch doesn't sound too bad at all. Then tomorrow night we can do it up right & have dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant - super stoked about that!
P.S. I have concerns about....the name Sarah Starr. Is it a little too 'exotic dancer'? Ah well, se la vie, suppose it could be worse.

happy tidbits...

I made a title page for my Tell Your Story art journal, I am waaay excited about this class! I am in *love* with this gorgeous necklace DIY from Amy via Elsie's blog; can't wait to make my own! Scored an insanely adorable paisley owl wristlet from the Dainty Squid!! And....tomorrow I am off work before noon! woo-hoo!!

overdue update...

I have been down for the count the last few days with a migraine, so it's been pretty quiet around here. Above are my intro pages for the Tell Your Story RVA art journal class. I think it is going to be a really great class and I have vowed to only use supplies I already have (and believe me, I have a ton!). Now I need to start taking more pictures!

bunny update...

Home sweet home again. Cory is off on a bachelor party/camping weekend for his best friend Andrew so I'm flying solo. I miss him (of course!) but it's also kind of nice to have some time by myself. I lived alone for 2 years and you certainly get used to it. Today was a perfect spring day, a balmy 70 degrees with a light breeze. I had to work until noon but had a very lazy rest of the day. The above photo is the last update of our backyard bunnies. I could only catch a shot of this 1 but there were still 2 today; they made their way out under the fence late this afternoon. I still can't believe that Bella & Lulu never bothered them!

sweet pea...

Just wanted to share this photo of my little hippie niece Addie. Doesn't she have the most cautious look on her face? We are house-sitting for my parents this week so it may be quiet around here for a few days.
